HEAVENLY HAMBURGER PATTIES

Heavenly Hamburger Patties

These hamburger patties are tender, juicy, savory, and loaded with comforting flavors. A blend of seasonings, aromatics, and a touch of binder ensures they stay moist and hold together beautifully.

Ingredients (Makes 4–6 Patties)

For the Patties

  • 1 kg (2.2 lbs) ground beef (80/20 for juicy burgers)

  • 1 small onion, VERY finely chopped or grated

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers)

  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional for deeper umami)

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard or yellow mustard

  • 1/4 cup milk or beef broth (for moisture)

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1–1 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne (optional)

  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional but great)

For Cooking

  • 2–3 tbsp butter or oil

  • Extra cracked pepper

  • Sliced onions or mushrooms (optional topping)

Instructions

1. Mix the Flavor Base

In a large bowl, combine:

  • egg

  • milk/broth

  • Worcestershire

  • mustard

  • soy sauce

  • garlic

  • grated onion

Whisk or stir until smooth. This creates the moisture + flavor foundation.

2. Add Dry Ingredients

Stir in:

  • breadcrumbs

  • paprika

  • thyme

  • onion powder

  • pepper

  • cayenne

Let it sit 2–3 minutes so the breadcrumbs absorb the liquid.

3. Add the Beef

Add the ground beef last. Gently fold everything together using your hands or a fork.
👉 Do NOT overmix — it makes patties tough.

4. Shape the Patties

  • Make 4 large or 6 medium patties.

  • Press a small dimple in the center of each patty (prevents puffing up).

  • Chill patties for 20–30 minutes for best shape retention.

Cooking Methods

A) Pan-Fry (Most Flavorful)

  1. Heat a skillet on medium-high; add oil or butter.

  2. Sear patties 3–4 minutes per side until browned.

  3. Reduce heat, cover, and cook another 3–5 minutes to desired doneness.

B) Grill

  • Use medium-high heat, about 4–5 minutes each side.

  • Avoid pressing the patties—keeps juices inside.

C) Oven

  • Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway.

  • Broil for 2 minutes at the end for browning.

Optional: Make Onion-Mushroom Gravy

Perfect for “hamburger steak.”

1 tbsp butter + 1 sliced onion + 1 cup sliced mushrooms
Cook until soft.
Add 1 tbsp flour; stir.
Add 1 1/2 cups beef broth + splash Worcestershire.
Simmer until thick.
Serve over patties—AMAZING.
