🍔 Hamburger Patties Recipe #3 

A simple, clean-flavored hamburger patty recipe that highlights beefy flavor with just the right aromatics and seasoning—no overpowering additions, just pure, delicious patties.


Ingredients (Makes 4–6 Patties)

  • 1 kg (2.2 lbs) ground beef (80/20 ideal)

  • 1 small onion, grated or minced very fine

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs (or crushed plain crackers)

  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp soy sauce (optional)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

  • 2 tbsp cold water or milk (for extra tenderness)


Instructions

1. Prepare the Flavor Mix

In a bowl, combine:

  • egg

  • grated onion

  • garlic

  • Worcestershire

  • soy sauce

  • water or milk

Stir until smooth.

2. Add Dry Ingredients

Mix in:

  • breadcrumbs

  • salt

  • pepper

  • garlic powder

  • oregano

  • smoked paprika

Let sit 1–2 minutes to hydrate.

3. Mix in the Ground Beef

Add the beef and gently fold until just combined.
👉 Avoid over-mixing to keep patties tender.

4. Shape the Patties

Form 4 large or 6 medium patties.
Make a shallow thumb indentation in the middle of each one.

5. Chill (Optional but Recommended)

Refrigerate 20 minutes—helps patties hold shape and stay juicy.


Cooking Methods

Pan Fry

  1. Heat oil/butter in a pan over medium-high.

  2. Sear patties 3–4 minutes per side.

  3. Reduce heat, cover, and cook 3–5 more minutes until done.

Grill

  • Grill over medium-high heat, 4–5 minutes per side.

  • Don’t press the patties while cooking.

Oven

Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway.

  • Patty melt with caramelized onions

For patties: Combine all ingredients. Mix. Form into 4-5 patties. Place on raised rack or shallow glass baking dish. Cover with waxed paper. Microwave on high 6-7 minutes. Top each patty with topping. Microwave 1 minute on high. Serve hot.
