Texas Patty Melts Recipe 

An amazing hamburger pattie recipe to try !

Ingredients 

 * 1 lb. lean ground beef * 4 (1/4-in-thick) slices red onion * olive oil * or veg. oil * 8 slices purchased frozen buttered garlic Texas toast * 4 (1-oz.) slices hot pepper Montery Jack Cheese * 1 Tbsp. ranch salad dressing * 1 Tbsp. steak sauce 

 INSTRUCTIONS 

 1. Heat grill. 
 2. Shape ground beef into 4 (4-in.-square) patties. 
 3. When ready to grill, place patties on gas grill over med. heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from med. coals. 
 4. Cook 13-15 minutes or until thoroughly cooked, turning once. 
 5. Meanwhile, brush onion slices with oil. 
 6. Add onion to grill during last 5-8 minutes of cooking time; cook onions until tender, turning once. 
 7. Prepare bread as directed on package to grill. 
 8. Top each patty with cheese slice; cook just until melted. 
 9. To serve, place onion slice on each hamburger patty on grill. 
10. Spread 1 side of 4 slices of toast with ranch dressing; spread remaining 4 slices of toast with steak sauce. 
11. Top each steak sauce-spread slice of toast with onion topped patty. 
12. Cover each with ranch-spread slice of toast.

14. For a milder, kid-friendly flavor, use Montery Jack in place of the pepper cheese.
